Perfect fall boots!

Written by Caitlin Restelli. Posted in Shoes, Trends

Boots — brown, black, leather, suede and the list goes on…

With the cold, fall weather creeping around the corner, it is a wonderful time to pull out those boots from last winter or head out to the stores and purchase some.

The fall season is the best season to get the most use out of your boots.  There is no snow on the ground, which means there is no salt to eat away at them.

Boots are a girl’s best fall accessory.  They can be simple to keep your feet warm with the chilled weather or they can be cute and stylish, or better yet — both.

I recommend suede boots in both gray and black.  They can go with just about any outfits.  Pair them up with skinny jeans or a pair of tights and you’re ready to go.  If you want to get adventurous, try pairing different colored tights, like a maroon or a teal.

I love this gray suede pair and these black suede boots!

I also recommend leather boots — real leather.  They will last you a lifetime if you take proper care of them.  Tan or brown boots always add more to an outfit with simple black colors to bright colors.  You can definitely get a lot of use out of them.

Try these tan/brown leather boots from Payless Shoes!

And finally, little bootie heels are the best.  They are comfortable enough to talk all day in, and they are cute, stylish and add something to the outfit.  I’m 5’5″, and I enjoy a little “boost” every now and then. These little booties are adorable and can be worn with almost anything!

When I looked up shoes online, I used Payless for all of my examples because it is a fairly priced store for broke college students. So with that little extra pocket change, head over to Summit or Chapel Hill Mall and get some boots into you closet.

The belt

Today’s lesson: The belt.

Dictionary definition— Noun: A band of flexible material, as leather or cord, for encircling the waist.

My definition— A thin or thick piece of fabric or leather that can be worn to hold your pants up or act as lovely addition to your outfit.

My personal favorite belt is my brown leather one.

It’s chunky, fits in my belt loop holes and can be a fantastic addition to my outfits.

Here are some ways I recommend getting the most use out of a belt:

Going out in style

Written by Caitlin Restelli. Posted in Accessories

Getting ready to head out this weekend with your girls? Whether you’re going to a fraternity party or a bar in downtown Kent, it’s always fun to get all fancied up.

You can never go wrong with knit mini skirts. They are usually pretty inexpensive andcome in a plethora of colors, styles and prints. I included a picture of one of my favorite knit minis (right).

For you, I decided to look up some of my favorite mini skirts online, reasonably priced for college students. All these stories are located in or around Kent, so you should have no problem picking them up before your night out. If you don’t have a car on campus, luckily mankind invented online shopping.

Mini skirt one: Safari Knit Skirt — Forever21 — $22.80

Mini skirt two: Floral skirt — Forever21 — $9.80

These two mini skirts stand out in their own way. I like the first one because I am a sucker for animal prints. With an animal print skirt, you can add a plain colored tank or T-shirt with it. You don’t want a shirt that has a lot going on because it will take away from the animal print. A simple black tank would go fabulously with this skirt.

I am absolutely in love with the second skirt. Not only is it cheaper than the first one, but floral. It might be getting a little colder outside, but that doesn’t mean you can’t bring summer flowers with you! All you need is a simple shirt. Perhaps a loose tank or cropped T-shirt like this one from Charlotte Russe.
