Ann Yee
Last year I had the
opportunity to speak with Ann Yee. I interned at a shoe company that she borrowed from for her Spring 2013 fashion show, which took place on top of a roof in New York City. Her garments flowed in the wind and they seemed to sparkle in the bright sun. Ann Yee is definitely an up and coming designer, and you should keep your eye on her. After her NYC studio burned down, she spent a lot of time in the Pacific Northwest where she was greatly inspired by the weather and the way it affects the ocean. Inspiration also stemmed from tangled ropes on a pier and the color scheme definitely comes from studying the shoreline. Colors range from sea foam blue to textured seaweed green. The garments flow so effortlessly, they are fluid like water. I am excited to see what Ann Yee has in store for the future.
