Check, check one two

I am so excited for this weekend because I am finally going to a concert! I haven’t been to a concert since earlier this summer. Going to concerts is basically my favorite thing to do.

I love feeling the loud music vibrate through the floor to my stomach, I love watching all the different people there, and most of all I love how every time you hear the songs later after the show you remember what a great time you had that and all the crazy memories from that night.

Another great thing about going to shows is figuring out what you are going to wear. Concerts come in all shapes and sizes. They can be outdoors, they can be in bars, they can be small venues, or huge arenas. No matter the size it’s important to be comfortable in your outfit since most shows involve long periods of standing and the occasional person who spills their beer all over you, which is the worst.

So, I am going to show you some of my fool-proof concert going outfits. These outfits are made up of simple pieces

that youprobably already have in your closet.

This outfit consists of a racer-back top and a black mini skirt. I also paired it with a long knotted chain necklace and a bold bracelet.

This is a good outfit for an indoor concert. This skirt is cotton so it is comfy and not to tight. The top is light and airy which comes in handy  since concerts can get pretty hot inside.

The shoes and the necklace also help lend a bit of toughness to the outfit giving it a more rock and roll-ish look. Also if it’s cold you could throw on a black blazer.

Seeing red

You know how people tend to wear the same colors of clothes over and over again? Well I am in a clothing rut. When looking at my closet, the only colors you see are black, black with prints, few bright colors, and a couple of grays. Exciting huh?

My wardrobe doesn’t exactly scream “notice me,” so after doing some thinking and looking through some magazines I noticed a trend that I am going to try this fall.

What is the trend you ask? Well, it is red. Bright red. Look-at-me red. I love that it is so bold and so powerful.  It says “I’m here” to the rest of the room. I am a timid person (if you couldn’t already tell by the lack of color in my closet), and I think it is time for me to come out of my shell a little and to start sporting this trend for fall.

Red has always been a color that represents power, and is always worn by a strong person. I want to be like the woman who can pull off this commanding color.  For example, Joan from “Mad Men.” With her red hair and amazing red sheath dresses, she comes across as the strongest person in the Sterling, Cooper, Draper, Pryce offices.

Prints galore

One of my favorite trends I have seen in stores this fall is the quirky, odd little animal prints that have popped up all over.  I don’t mean the typical animal prints as in leopard or cheetah; I mean actual little animals like foxes, elephants and owls.

I first spotted this trend in fashion magazines like Elle and Lucky. From there, I fell in love with the little guys and kept my eyes peeled for this trend in stores. The stores I noticed that carried this trend were the (always trendy) Forever 21 and the quirky online store Modcloth, which sells this inexpensive rabbit ring and this adorable elephant ring!

I already have in my possession a rabbit print dress (like this one at Forever 21 or this from ModCloth), a few pieces of clothing with birds all over and a bright red shirt with a cityscape covering it. In the past, these articles of clothing may have received smirks and questioning faces, but not any more!

Now all of us who enjoy the little animals can rejoice. This fall, we can wear our prints with pride. I love this trend because it is so unexpected and refreshing to see cute little animals prancing on a dress instead of just the basic flowers and stripes.

It also helps to add interest to a basic black sweater and jeans or a skirt. Who doesn’t want to feel like Snow White or Sleeping Beauty with little creatures following us around every once and a while?

Bye for now!
