Breathtaking Bloggers

Written by Jackie Onderko. Posted in Writers

Being a fashion major, staying on top of trends is not only my responsibility for my classes, but also something I greatly enjoy. I am a huge fan of being inspired by the people around me, but it can sometimes be difficult living in a small town. Luckily, fashion bloggers from all over the world are a staple to the fashion industry.

Everyone has their own favorite blogs that they follow religiously, so I figured I would share my top three.

Dulce Tejeda’s story is such an inspiration. She began her journey as an Army mechanic. Although a great experience, she found that she was unable to express her feminine side. With the inspiration from her mother, she grew an unbelievable love for anything fashion or beauty related. Now, out of her home in LA, she follows her passion.

Her fashion blog includes outfits inspired by celebrities, outfit ideas for special occasions and normal, everyday styling. As an added bonus, she also posts many makeup looks to compliment her style.

Angela Rozas Saiz is a nurse who lives in Madrid, Spain. Although her blog is in Spanish, no words need to describe the incredible styling she presents to the world.

Her exotic beauty is hard not to notice in her almost-daily posts. With a strong love for Jeffrey Campbell Lita’s, her fun-loving girly style has a bit of a mix of punk and hippie flair.

Pricila is another blogger from Spain. Once again, her blog is in Spanish, but don’t let that drive you away! It is true that pictures speak a thousand words.

Her style is very opposite from Angela’s, however. She embodies a sophistication that every woman dreams of. Sometimes she keeps it simple and classy, but other times she plays with unique patterns and bulky items. I envy her ability to mix textures so effortlessly.

Take advantage of all the resources the Web has to offer. The opportunities for inspiration are endless!

It’s a blog, blog, world

Written by Emily Marshall. Posted in Writers

I don’t know about you but I love reading fashion blogs. There are so many out there and I am always discovering many new favorites. I love that fashion blogs are just done by regular people and show so many ways to style a certain piece or the many different looks one can achieve. I am going to list a few or my favorite fashion sites to visit.

Refinery 29- This site is a conglomeration of many different writers and is almost like the New York Times for fashion. They have emphasis on certain cities like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington D.C.  They have articles about fashion and many articles about how awesome Ryan Gosling is. Their articles are informative and pretty hilarious and it’s updated all the time so there is always something new to read.

Whatiwore.tumblr.com- This blog is written by Jessica Quirk and she takes a picture or what she wears everyday. This may sound creepy but I check out this blog and see what Jessica is wearing next, everyday. She always has really cute outfits. She is also a talented designer and makes a lot of her outfits herself (which really makes me jealous)

Kendieverday.blogspot.com-This is also a daily outfit blog but it is written by Kendi. She has the best sense of humor and always makes me laugh. She has really cute outfits and tends to wear a lot of color which I like since I don’t really wear any.

Runwayhippie.com- Yes this is another daily outfit blog and it is written by Sonia. She is the most edgy out of all of these girls and she always has really interesting outfits and is really good at layering all of her outfits. She is also really funny and always seems like she has so many things going on.

Bloggers do it better!

Atlantic-Pacific

Name: Blair Eadie

Style: Ultra-femme with a sophisticated urban twist

Why you should follow: Hands down, Blair Eadie owns the wardrobe of your dreams, but more importantly, the way she puts each look together and reinterprets the way each piece can be worn over and over again make her a true style inspiration. Her look always makes a statement without ever being too outlandish. It’s easy to dissect how and why each outfit works, and while always unique, each one is distinctly Eadie. Follow her at atlantic-pacific.blogspot.com.

The Man Repeller

Name: Leandra Medine

Style: Quirky, high-fashioned, NOT boyfriend approved

Why you should follow: Leandra Medine dresses for herself without apologies. She recognizes the fact that her out of the ordinary look is attention grabbing and leaves men scratching their heads in confusion. Although you may not want to look to her style for date night inspiration, her ability to layer and pull off the runway’s most difficult trends makes her blog a must read. Her style has grabbed the attention of major fashion magazines like Harper’s BAZAAR and Marie Claire. Follow her at manrepeller.com.
