Hello! My name is Ashley Jaros, and I’m a junior fashion merchandising major.

My take on fashion is that what you wear is a physical manifestation of your personality, mood and creativity. With that being said, I can’t put a label on my own style since it is constantly evolving and progressing.

My favorite thing about fashion is that it is your own personal form of tangible art, and everyone has their own way of expressing themselves through their outfit.

When it comes to coordinating my ensembles, I like to stay on trend but still maintain my own character through what I’m wearing.

For inspiration, I look to the fashion blogger community or my own style icons, a few of them being Miroslava Duma, Rumi Neely and Anja Rubik. My favorite designers are Céline, Marc Jacobs, Helmut Lang and Alexander Wang.

The most important (and one of the few) fashion rules I follow is taking risks and not being afraid to stand out. Not having confidence in what you’re wearing can make or break even the most impeccably styled outfits — so own it!

I hope you’ve gotten a tiny glimpse of my perspective on fashion, and I’m excited for another year writing and styling for Fashion Blitz.
