My name is Megan Gooch or just “Gooch” according to the majority of my friends.
I’m one of many new faces to the Blitz staff this semester, and I hope you’ll enjoy getting to know me!
I can hardly believe I’m only two semesters away from graduating with a degree in fashion merchandising. I spent my junior year in Florence and NYC, and I must say I truly have a love for the fashion program here at Kent and all it has to offer.
Styling is my passion, and it’s why I originally chose to go to school for fashion merchandising. One philosophy I believe in is that you can’t be beautiful unless you feel beautiful. I love that something as simple as wearing a new outfit can completely change your outer appearance, and even change the way you perceive yourself and are perceived by others. Someday, I hope to make a difference in someone’s life through styling.
Trying to describe my personal style in just a few words is impossible! Fashion is ever-changing, and my style changes with every purchase I make. I would describe my take on fashion as off the beaten path, meaning I like to dress in what pleases me but not necessarily what is on trend at the moment. I’m pro Slow-Fashion, meaning I vote quality over quantity when it comes to my own wardrobe. No matter what is “in style” a year from now, you’ll still spot me in my paisley Citizens, flaunting my pixie cut.
I hope to bring a new edge to Blitz this semester by styling unique outfits that are effortless. My goal is that readers find inspiration for their own style from my pick each week.
So there you have it, a brief snapshot of who I am and what I’m about!
Wishing you a fabulous and stylish semester,
